Dr. Nguyen is an associate professor of palliative medicine in the Joan and Stanford Alexander Division of Geriatric and Palliative Medicine at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) McGovern Medical School. She is originally from Dallas. Dr. Nguyen completed her medical degree at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, internal medicine residency at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, hospice and palliative medicine fellowship at MD Anderson, and chief/research fellowship at MD Anderson. She received a Young Investigator Award from the Multinational Association of Supportive Care in Cancer in 2011. Afterward, she earned a Master’s of Education degree in Curriculum & Instruction and a Doctor of Education degree in Professional Leadership with an Emphasis in Health Science Education from the University of Houston. Her main interests are continuing education of health care professionals and physician board review. She sees patients at Harris Health System (Outpatient Center and Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital) and Memorial Hermann Cancer Center – Texas Medical Center.
