Dr. Couloures is a pediatric intensivist at Stanford School of Medicine with research interests in medical education, communication, extracorporeal life support, renal replacement therapy and procedural sedation. He received his medical degree from Western University of Health Sciences and trained in Pediatrics and Internal Medicine at Los Angeles County+USC. After residency, he trained in pediatric nephrology at Cedars-Sinai Hospital followed by Pediatric Critical Care Medicine at AI duPont Hospital for Children. During this time, he completed his Master’s in Public Health at the Bloomberg School of Public Health. He has held faculty appointments at the University of Oklahoma, Yale University and Stanford School of Medicine.
He has been actively involved in curriculum development for the pediatric critical care fellows and has been on the PREP_ICU editorial board since 2021. He previously served on and chaired the Society for Critical Care Medicine Pediatric Knowledge Assessment committee and was the Society for Pediatric Sedation vice chair for research. He is a member of the Society for Critical Care Medicine Pediatric Ultrasound Curriculum Development Committee.
