Dr. Liantonio currently serves as Medical Director for the Inpatient Palliative Care Service at Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA where he has worked since 2015. He is also the founding fellowship director for Hospice and Palliative Medicine since 2018. Dr. Liantonio has also been a staff physician with Vitas Hospice in Philadelphia since 2016. Prior to his time at Jefferson, Dr. Liantonio completed his medical training at Ross University School of Medicine, Residency in Family Medicine at Hahnemann University Hospital/Drexel University College of Medicine, Geriatrics Fellowship at Jefferson University Hospital and lastly Hospice and Palliative Medicine at Mount Sinai Beth Israel in NYC. He completed his MBA at Temple’s Fox School of Business in 2019.
Dr. Liantonio’s interests include graduate medical education, introduction of primary palliative care to medical students and other interprofessional learners and the provision of culturally competent Geriatric Medicine and Palliative Care to all patients with a special interest in the LGBT population.
