Dr. Desai obtained his medical degree from Smt. Nathiba Hargovandas Lakhmichand Municipal Medical College in India. He then completed a Master’s in Public Health program at the University of Texas at Houston. Following this, he completed his Internal Medicine residency at the University of Arizona in Tucson and further specialized by completing a fellowship in Pulmonary & Critical Care at Indiana University, with additional elective time dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of pulmonary hypertension. In 2020, Dr. Desai joined the faculty at the University of Minnesota.
His clinical interests include sarcoidosis, interstitial lung disease, pulmonary hypertension, and asthma. He practices at the University of Minnesota Medical Center and the ICU at M Health-Fairview Southdale Hospital. Dr. Desai is actively involved in conducting multi-center clinical trials focusing on Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS), Sarcoidosis and Interstitial Lung Disease.
