Dr. Amr Abouleish is a professor of Anesthesiology, a Pediatric Anesthesiologist, and the Vice-Chair for Faculty Development at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston Texas.
He received his medical degree from University of Texas Houston and completed residency at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston with Harvard Medical School. While at UTMB, he completed his MBA at University of Houston Clear Lake.
Dr. Abouleish’s research interest is the economics of anesthesia care, and specifically the measurement and benchmarking of clinical productivity in anesthesiologists and anesthesiology groups. He speaks nationally on this topic. He is on several ASA committees including Committee on Economics. He is a past chair of the ASA Committee on Practice Management. He is also the ASA member of the AMA RVU Update Committee (ASA RUC).
