Dr. Shuja has expertise in a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions and special expertise in diseases of the esophagus, stomach, and colon, and in the evaluation of GI bleeding. His primary clinical research interests are in patient-centered outcomes and policy outcomes related to endoscopic interventions for patients with chronic liver disease, GI bleeding, and colon cancer screening. Dr. Shuja also has a keen interest in serving as an educator and mentor, and is a member of the UIC-GI Fellowship Core Curriculum and the Scholarly Activity committees.
