Dr. Duxbury has received numerous awards in the field of Geriatrics including UAB Medicine’s Patient Experience Excellence Award, and Department of Internal Medicine’s Unsung Hero award. He has extensive experience lecturing nationally and has been published in numerous journals. Dr. Duxbury serves on UA Health Services Foundation’s Health Equality Initiative Committee and on the UAB School of Medicine’s Dean’s Council on Diversity and is currently Medical Director at Home Based Primary Care for several VA locations.
Passionate about helping the elderly, he specializes in senior mobility, fall prevention, Alzheimer’s and dementia care, and preventing overmedication in seniors. Dr. Duxbury’s research interests include functional aging and elder health policy.
