Dr. Shega has given numerous lectures across the nation on hospice and palliative medicine. He has also written several scholarly publications and book chapters including work for UNIPAC and Curriculum for Primary Care Geriatrics. Dr. Shega had previously served as the Co-Medical Director of Northwestern Memorial Home Hospice Program and is on the Leadership Committee of Section of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine at University of Chicago and Chair of the Ethics Committee with the American Geriatrics Society. Dr. Shega serves as the reviewer for several medical journals and is on the editorial board of the Journal of Pain and Symptom Management and Pain Medicine.
