Dr. Pahwa has been teaching residents and medical students while rounding in the ICU/CCU/Neuro ICU for over a decade, including formal lectures on various critical care topics such as mechanical ventilation, ARDS, Septic shock, Fluid & Electrolyte management, Acid Base Disorders, EKG, and Subarachnoid hemorrhage. He has received several Excellence in Teaching awards, is admitted to the Sparrow Physician Hall of Fame, and recipient of the Sparrow Leadership Award in 2022.
Dr. Pahwa has also dedicated his efforts to many clinical and quality improvement initiatives including the development of clinical pathways for management of COVID-19 in the ICU, updated hyperthermia protocol for post cardiac arrest patients, and standardized neuro critical care EMR admission and follow up.
